First Appointment - Bite Related Evaluation
When a new patient desires an appointment for bite related problems – see Bite, Bruxism, TMJ and Headaches we schedule a limited examination to determine the root cause for that particular patient. The evaluation will include:
Consultation/Discussion of current problem and history related to
Photographs
Bite, muscle, and joint evaluation
CBCT if necessary
Depending on the findings of the limited exam, our doctors will make a recommendation for the next step. This may include fabrication of a deprogrammer mouth device, taking study models of the bite, a therapeutic night guard, or referral for true joint disorders.
For some, simple treatment designed to relax the muscles and reduce inflammation may be all that is needed. For others, more comprehensive diagnostics and dental restorations will be required.
